Last night was our annual year-end BBQ where we get to say goodbye to students for another year and congratulate our graduates. What a great group of students we had this year!
It's hard to believe another year is almost over but we do have quite a few activities left before we are done--the Assiniboine Park Zoo this Saturday afternoon, a Winnipeg Goldeyes baseball game, a FIFA Women's World Cup soccer game, and Cirque du Soliel, so there's still more to experience!
This Friday evening there will be a free screening of a Korean movie with English subtitles at McNally-Robinson Booksellers at Grant Park Shopping Centre.
There is also an Asian Canadian Festival at the Forks on Saturday and Sunday under the canopy, with cultural performances including a drum festival. You can see more information here.
And Sturgeon Heights had a cultural activity as well last week, the annual international student lunch, where international students make and serve foods from their home countries.
Last week we attended Stars on Ice at the MTS Centre. It is always such a great show with amazing skaters. It is definitely worth seeing, and everyone had a great time.
Next week will be our year end BBQ on Tuesday, and then the Assiniboine Park Zoo on Saturday afternoon. And we will also be seeing the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra this Friday evening!
Today is Manitoba Day, so it seemed like a good time to post some pictures from our tour of the Manitoba Legislative Building last week. We had a great tour guide who showed us many features of the building. We also got to see a few minutes of Manitoba's government in session and also meet with the Member of the Legislative Assembly for Assiniboia, Jim Rondeau.
