Winnipeg Blue Bombers Football Game

This past Saturday 50 of us went to see a Winnipeg Blue Bombers Canadian football game. It was a nice evening, though it got chilly suddenly, and the Bombers almost won.  Thank you to the Bombers for some prizes, which a few lucky students won.

 

Cooking Night #4

Last Thursday was the final of our 4 cooking nights this semester, and it was Sturgeon Heights Collegiate's turn to learn to cook.

The Forks on Saturday

This Saturday there were free concerts and all kinds of activities at The Forks for the opening of the new Canadian Museum for Human Rights.  Unfortunately, it rained all day long, canceling some of the concerts and making everyone mostly stay indoors.  Many students, however, came out in the rain, and finally the rain stopped in time for a performance by Winnipeg band Royal Canoe.

Canadian Cooking Workshop #1

Yesterday was the first Canadian Cooking and Living Workshop of the semester, where our new international students from Westwood Collegiate learned their way around a Canadian kitchen and learned about food safety, and put it into practice by making spaghetti and chocolate chip cookies.
