Lawn Bowling

Last week a few students tried out lawn bowling. 

It was kind of a cross between bowling and curling, and it was fun.  Thanks to Hal for inviting us out, and to Anna for the pictures. 

Doors Open Winnipeg this weekend

This Saturday and Sunday, May 25th and 26th, will be the annual Doors Open Winnipeg, a free event where you can visit 80 historic buildings and sites in Winnipeg, including the Fort Garry Hotel, the Vaughn Street Jail, St. Mary's Cathedral, and the Royal Canadian Mint.  Some buildings have tours, and in some you can explore the building yourself.  There is a complete list of the buildings and hours they are open available here.  BUT also remember that we are going to visit the Winnipeg Art Gallery on Saturday, May 25th at 1:00 to see the 100 Masters Exhibit.

Baking!

Yesterday we held our first ever baking workshop for students who wanted to try their hand at baking some cinnamon buns.  It was a new experience for almost everyone, but everyone was mixing and kneading dough like experts and ended up with awesome cinnamon buns.
