End of Semester Sushi Lunch

This Saturday  we went for an all-you-can-eat sushi lunch.  The sushi was great, we ate a lot of it, and it was a really good time.  It will be sad to say goodbye this week to so many of the students that were there.

At the same time, we also had some new students from Japan arrive!

JP on the Ice!

Here is a short video of JP from Brazil practicing as part of the John Taylor Hockey Academy program.   It's great to see Brazilians playing hockey!

Free Art Opening Tonight

There is a free public opening tonight at theWinnipeg Art Gallery with an exhibition of Inuit art.  There will also be someone making full size igloos on the roof of the art gallery.  This would be a great chance to go to the art gallery for free for students who have not yet done so, and for everyone to see and experience authentic igloos, and all for free.

And don't forget the sushi lunch tomorrow at Sushi Gen!

Skating at the Forks

Also last Friday, a large group of students came to ice skate at the Forks.  It was a great day for skating and a fun afternoon.

It's hard to believe the semester is almost over!   Next week we will start having a goodbye lunch at each high school for the students who will be leaving us at the end of the semester.  And we have one more activity before the end of the semester, a sushi lunch at Sushi Gen on Janaury 26th

Ice Skating this Friday

Happy new year!  We will meet at the Forks this Friday, January 4th for an afternoon of ice skating.  You can check out information about the river trail and the ice rinks here.

There is an annual competition to design warming huts placed along the trail on the river, and you can check out this year's winning entries here.  There were 100 entries, and the warming huts have previously been featured in many different travel and architecture magazines. The huts have started being built on site and installed along the river trail.
